Can A Chiropractor Help With A Trapped Nerve?

Can A Chiropractor Help With A Trapped Nerve

Trapped Nerve Relief With Chiropractic Help

The human body has a complex nervous system that facilitates coordination between the brain and muscles. Since the nerves help the body move and function, any problem with a nerve can result in extreme distress.

One such nerve problem that causes pain and numbness is a trapped or pinched nerve. This can occur in any part of the body, such as the shoulders, legs, arms, or back.

While the common treatments for a trapped nerve include rest and gentle exercises, a chiropractor can help provide quick relief in a non-invasive way.

What Is A Trapped Nerve?

A trapped or compressed nerve is a common physical problem that affects almost everyone at least once in their lifetime. It can cause significant pain and reduce mobility in a few cases and generally occurs due to a problem in the musculoskeletal system.

Trapped or pinched nerves can result from repetitive motions, poor posture, injury, or inflammation in a tissue. While they can occur in any body part, they are most commonly seen in the arms and legs. You can also suffer from a pinched nerve in the shoulder, neck, and lower back, which often causes radiating pain through the limbs.

The common causes of a trapped nerve include a herniated disc, inflammation, or misaligned vertebrae, a trapped nerve, which increases pressure on a nearby nerve. Therefore, releasing this pressure is important to promote quicker recovery.

Chiropractors help with trapped nerves and release this external compression through adjustment of the spine or joints along with soft tissue therapy.

Symptoms Of A Trapped Nerve

Following are a few symptoms and indications that can help you understand the problem in order to seek the correct chiropractor help with trapped nerve:

  • Numbness
  • Sharp pain
  • Tingling sensation
  • Muscle weakness

It is important to note that these symptoms are often felt in other parts of the body rather than at the location of the affected nerves due to the nervous system’s communication with the brain. This phenomenon is also known as referred pain.

Can A Chiropractor Help With A Trapped Nerve?

If you have the symptoms mentioned above and believe you have a trapped nerve, it is vital to get the problem diagnosed and treated immediately. It is best to get chiropractor help with a pinched nerve immediately, as a pinched nerve can worsen over time, often causing additional physical problems.

A chiropractor has the right experience and expertise to diagnose the problem and pinpoint the nerve that is suffering from pressure. They will then perform spinal adjustments and soft-tissue therapy accordingly and help relieve the problem quickly.

Chiropractic Treatment For A Pinched Nerve

A pinched or trapped nerve can become a source of extreme distress, pain, and numbness, therefore warranting quick relief. While taking painkiller medications can provide immediate relief, the solution is temporary and doesn’t address the root cause.

Moreover, relieving a trapped nerve is vital to prevent any physical problems. Chiropractic treatments are often suggested for such a situation, as they help decompress the nerve at the source without invasive procedures.

Chiropractic care is a natural and healthy approach involving spinal and muscle adjustments to help your body heal. By adjusting the body tissues, a chiropractor can free a trapped nerve.

The chiropractic treatment for a trapped nerve generally involves:

1. Consultation And Examination

The chiropractor will begin with a discussion involving details about your medical history, lifestyle and habits, and knowledge of any specific event or injury that could have resulted in the pain.

Along with this information, the chiropractor will conduct a physical examination to understand the trapped nerve’s location and root cause. This enables the chiropractor to build a suitable treatment plan.

2. Chiropractic Adjustment

One of the primary ways to treat a trapped nerve is a chiropractic adjustment. Addressing the pain at its source, a chiropractic adjustment involves realignment of the joint, bone, or muscle that is causing pressure on the nerve.

By bringing the bone or muscle to its natural position, the chiropractor can help relieve the pressure at the source and provide immediate relief to the patient.

3. Holistic Treatment And Care

In addition to the adjustment, the chiropractor may suggest lifestyle and dietary adjustments to help restore the health and prevent a recurrence. This also includes physical therapy and exercises for strengthening the musculoskeletal system.

Therefore, through gentle pressure and supportive therapies, a chiropractor can help treat a trapped nerve in a surgery and medication-free way. Moreover, the chiropractor cost is highly pocket-friendly, especially in comparison to unnecessary invasive surgeries and tests.

Why Seek Chiropractic Help For A Trapped Nerve

Following are a few benefits of choosing chiropractic treatment for a trapped nerve:

1. Expertise

Since chiropractors are well-versed in the human spine and its problems, they have in-depth knowledge of the nervous system as well. Therefore, they hold the expertise required for spinal adjustments that help remove nerve interference in the body.

When you approach a chiropractor, they can make an accurate diagnosis through a discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and a physical evaluation, removing the need for tests.

2. Root-Cause Treatment

Since chiropractors provide holistic wellness, they focus on addressing the root cause of the problem rather than finding quick ways of relief, such as pain medications.

A chiropractor will identify the impacted nerve and adjust the spine, bones, muscles, or joints to help decompress it, therefore relieving the symptoms.

3. Holistic Approach

In addition to performing adjustments to relieve the pressure, chiropractors use different treatment methods, such as physical therapy, to strengthen the muscle. They also suggest dietary and lifestyle changes to help quicken healing and prevent future problems.

4. Preventative Treatment

As mentioned above, chiropractors also focus on preventing similar problems in the future and may suggest exercises, stretching, and posture correction to help with the same.

Find A Good Chiropractor For Trapped Nerve Treatment

A chiropractor is well suited to help treat a trapped nerve for various reasons. With the expertise and knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, a chiropractor can easily diagnose and treat the problem without any invasive procedures.

Chiropractors help improve mobility and relieve pain, providing immediate relief and helping prevent similar problems in the future. At Advanced Medical Group, we have a team of the best chiropractors that you can approach to help treat a pinched or trapped nerve.
