VenaSeal
A medical adhesive seals the diseased vein closed, with little to no downtime and no need for compression stockings.

What it is
VenaSeal is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins caused by venous reflux. Instead of heat or a sclerosing agent, a medical adhesive is used to seal the diseased vein closed. Blood is then redirected through healthy veins, relieving symptoms such as aching, swelling and heaviness.
Because there is no thermal energy and no need for tumescent anaesthesia, VenaSeal is virtually painless and requires little to no downtime. Most patients return to their daily activities right after the procedure, often without the compression stockings other treatments require.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a VenaSeal session take?
On average about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the severity of venous reflux and the number of veins being treated.
Is VenaSeal treatment painful?
It is generally well tolerated and minimally painful. Local anaesthesia numbs the treatment area for a comfortable experience.
What is recovery like?
Downtime is minimal. We recommend avoiding vigorous activity and heavy lifting for a few days afterward.
Is it effective for varicose veins?
Yes. By sealing the diseased vein and rerouting blood to healthy veins, VenaSeal provides long-term relief from symptoms and improves the appearance of varicose veins.
Are the results permanent?
Yes. Once the diseased vein is sealed it is gradually absorbed by the body. New varicose veins can develop over time, which is why periodic follow-up is recommended.
