Laser Ablation
Endovenous laser ablation uses targeted laser energy to seal the faulty vein, relieving discomfort with minimal downtime.

What it is
Endovenous laser ablation uses targeted laser energy to treat varicose veins. A thin laser fibre is inserted into the affected vein through a small incision and guided into position with imaging. The laser then delivers energy to the vein’s inner wall, causing it to collapse and seal shut so blood reroutes to healthy veins.
This minimally invasive approach offers reduced bleeding, minimal scarring and a shorter recovery than conventional surgery. It is performed under local anaesthesia, usually in under an hour, and most patients resume normal activities shortly afterward.
Frequently asked questions
Is laser ablation painful?
Local anaesthesia is used to numb the area, so the procedure is well tolerated. Comfort levels vary by individual and treatment area.
How long does the procedure take?
Usually under an hour, performed on an outpatient basis.
What is recovery like?
Downtime is minimal — most patients resume daily activities shortly after, following any aftercare guidance we provide.
How long do results last?
For varicose veins, results are typically long-lasting. Some patients may need follow-up to maintain the best outcome.
