What We Do

Three pillars of our cardiology program

Whether you want a one-time prevention check or ongoing care for a known condition, the path forward is clear and starts in a single visit.

Cardiology Consultation & Preventive Care

A board-certified cardiologist evaluates your risk, reviews family history, and builds a plan to catch heart disease years before it starts.

  • Annual heart-health visit
  • Risk-factor assessment
  • Cholesterol & blood-pressure management
  • Lifestyle & nutrition coaching

Cardiac Testing

Painless, in-office diagnostics — EKG, echocardiogram, stress testing, Holter monitor — usually completed in a single visit.

  • EKG (Electrocardiogram)
  • Echocardiogram
  • Stress & treadmill testing
  • Holter / event monitoring

Heart Conditions Management

Ongoing, coordinated care for chronic heart problems — with timely medication adjustments and clear next steps after every visit.

  • Coronary artery disease
  • Hypertension & high cholesterol
  • Arrhythmia (AFib, palpitations)
  • Heart failure follow-up
Cardiac Testing

Diagnostics, in-office, same week

A complete cardiac work-up rarely requires a hospital visit. Most of the tests we order are done on-site and read by the same cardiologist you see.

5 min

EKG

Resting electrocardiogram — quick baseline of your heart’s electrical activity.

30 min

Echocardiogram

Ultrasound imaging of the heart muscle, valves and blood flow.

45 min

Stress Test

Treadmill or pharmacologic stress with continuous EKG monitoring.

24–48 hrs

Holter / Event Monitor

Continuous heart-rhythm recording you wear at home.

20 min

Carotid Ultrasound

Painless stroke-risk screening of the neck arteries.

15 min

Vascular & ABI

Ankle-brachial index and lower-extremity arterial assessment.

Cardiology Services

Services by our cardiologist

From minimally invasive interventions to the right combination of medication, our cardiologist matches every treatment to the specific problem — never one-size-fits-all.

Angioplasty & Stenting

A tiny balloon opens the narrowed artery and, when needed, a mesh stent is placed to keep blood flowing — performed through a small wrist or groin puncture.

Surgical Bypass

When a blockage is too long or complex for stenting, a graft re-routes blood around the diseased artery — coordinated with experienced cardiothoracic partners.

Pacemaker Implantation

A small implanted device keeps the heart rate steady when the body’s own electrical system can no longer do the job reliably.

ICD Insertion

An implantable cardioverter-defibrillator continuously monitors rhythm and delivers a corrective shock if a dangerous arrhythmia develops — preventing sudden cardiac arrest.

Calcium Channel Blockers

A medication class used to lower blood pressure and treat certain arrhythmias by relaxing the muscle in artery walls and the heart itself.

Medications

Statins, antiplatelets, beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors and anticoagulants — tuned to your specific risk profile and reviewed at every visit.

Conditions We Treat

Long-term care for complex hearts

Coordinated management plans — medication, lifestyle, monitoring and (when needed) referral for minimally invasive intervention.

Know the Signs

Common cardiology symptoms

Most heart problems give early warnings. If any of these are new, worsening, or repeating, an evaluation is one of the most worthwhile half-hours you can spend.

Chest pain or pressure Especially with exertion or stress.
Shortness of breath New, worsening, or out of proportion to activity.
Palpitations Skipped beats, fluttering or a racing heart.
Dizziness or fainting Sudden lightheadedness or loss of consciousness.
Persistent fatigue Tiredness that interferes with daily activity.
Leg or ankle swelling Often worse at the end of the day.
High blood pressure Readings consistently above 130/80.
Numbness in arms or hands Especially with chest discomfort or sweating.

FAQ

Common cardiology questions

Real, specific answers from our team. If your question is not here, our front desk can usually answer it in a 5-minute phone call.

When should I see a cardiologist?

If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, fainting, or a family history of early heart disease — or you are 40+ with high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol — a one-time baseline visit is one of the highest-yield preventive steps you can take.

Do I need a referral?

In most cases, no. Medicare and most commercial plans let you self-refer to cardiology. We verify your specific plan before the visit so there are no surprises.

What happens at the first visit?

A full history and exam, blood-pressure check, EKG, and a personalized plan. Most patients leave with their first round of testing already done and clear next steps.

How long do test results take?

EKG is reviewed during the visit. Echocardiograms and stress tests are read by the cardiologist — results are usually back within 24-48 hours.

Is preventive cardiology covered by insurance?

Annual heart-health visits, EKG, and most diagnostic imaging are covered by Medicare and commercial plans when medically indicated. Cosmetic or screening-only studies vary — our concierge confirms before your visit.

Can I get a same-week appointment?

Yes — new-patient cardiology slots are held weekly across all five Hudson County locations. Urgent symptoms (chest pain, syncope, new arrhythmia) are seen the same day.
